Meet Thomas A. Dobbins, CPA

Tom Dobbins, Assistant Vice President and Controller at New Republic Partners, is responsible for overseeing accounting and finance activities for the firm.

In his prior role as Assurance Manager at Grant Thornton LLP, Tom specialized in audit, consulting, and advisory services for financial services companies. This included working with banks ranging from $100 million to $50 billion in assets, specialty finance companies, registered investment advisors, and private investment funds with diverse investment strategies.

Tom holds a B.S. in Accounting from the Poole College of Management and an M.A.C. from the Jenkins Graduate College of Management, both obtained from North Carolina State University.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Tom actively contributes to the community by serving on the advisory committee for the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill, particularly for their annual Carolina Kids Classic fundraiser.
